It’s not just the English that talk about the weather - Most overused expression here as people sit at bus stops and make conversation, tilt their heads towards the sky and say “se va llover”. The response nearly always is “ si, se va llover’ (yes, it’s going to rain) or for the less local traveller and rather incredulous ‘en serio’ (seriously?!). In fact this is incredibly unsurprising. We live in a rainforest.
“So Niki, what’s the weather going to be like tomorrow?”
“Well now, I can tell you it’s 50% likely sun, 50% rain. It’s not going to snow, it’s very unlikely to be windy and there’s the smallest chance of it being foggy.
“Oh… and it’ll be hot”
“So it’s going to rain?”
“Well yes probably”
“But it’ll be hot”
“Yes, absolutely positive”.
