I met a guy on the bus from Quito to Tena who got on at Baeza, Columbian I think, who’d lived 13 years in the US. He sat down next to me. “extranjera?”. ‘Yes”, I said, “Extranjera de Inglaterra”!.
Archie Sierra, 63, retired and enjoying life trout fishing. We had a great chat. A really nice guy. I love that his name is Archie ‘Mountain’! He took a photo for posterity (very much like my friend Graham does!) He told me about a great place to visit an hour away - $1 by bus. I can find him by asking at the restaurant ‘El Columbiano’. I said he could find me to go fishing in barrio San Jorge, Tena. And I like to keep it this way. More leaving it to fate to meet people than giving out my number or email willy nilly. If it happens, it happens, if not.. que sera sera.
