Well yes, of course those. It goes with the territory. But unusually I seemed to have picked up an unusual squint.
I noticed myself doing it a few days ago. When I’m joking about something and want to indicate it as such, I do a rapid squinting winking both eyes opening and shutting. And I’ve just noticed someone else doing it! It fascinates me how we learn body language.
Last time I was in Ecuador I picked up another gesture. Many people instead of pointing with a finger in the direction of something, will gesture towards it with pouting lips, moving their head towards the same direction. Culturally it fits in fine here, but remove me from here and I’ve had some strange looks from people back home. Not sure how the double eyed squint will go down!
